GOd Of Carnage

by Yasmina Reza

This is the final week of the smash hit Tony Award-winning comedy God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza at Key West’s beloved Red Barn Theatre. God of Carnage runs nightly through Saturday with a special matinee added for this Saturday at 2pm. Solaris Hill says in God of Carnage “every one of these actors is flawless” and Conch Color declares “God of Carnage is a hit! Two thumbs up!” Come see what audiences and critics are raving about at the Red Barn Theatre. In this play, which The New Yorker calls “ninety minutes of sustained mayhem,” two couples meet to discuss an altercation on the playground between their sons and civilized manners soon give way to a rumble in the living room. All hell then breaks loose in this hilarious night at the theatre. As the evening progresses – and the rum flows – what started out as a civilized get-together quickly descends into a hilarious train wreck of an evening as the parents battle for ethical superiority. God of Carnage stars local favorites Bob Bowersox, Mimi McDonald, Annie Miners and George Murphy.

Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play and the Olivier Award in London for Best New Comedy, this Broadway smash hit is a comedy of manners without the manners. Two couples meet to discuss an altercation on the playground between their eleven year-old sons. Civilized manners soon give way to a rumble in the living room as all hell breaks loose in this very funny play about the primitive tendencies that lurk just below the surface in us all.

The stellar cast of Bob Bowersox, Mimi McDonald, Annie Miners and George Murphy directed by Red Barn Theatre Artistic Director Joy Hawkins will make this an evening of theatre you won’t soon forget. Special thanks to Tom Oosterhoudt from ConchColor.com for the magnificent photos!
